This workshop is an introduction to creative writing. As students read and discuss a range of contemporary writers of fiction and poetry, they will develop vocabularies and methods of evaluation that they can apply to their own work. Students will be grounded in an overview of literary practices in their own time as well as practice basic conventions and craft techniques of multiple genres. As capstone projects, students will edit their work, create portfolios, and participate in a class reading.
